Duncan Henderson

Duncan works part time with WMRDC, as part of the team supporting the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme, with responsibilities for support to a number of localities and chair of the Service and Course Leads meetings.

Duncan originally trained as a social worker and worked in a Local Authority setting originally focussing largely upon child care work as a practitioner and manager.  With the advent of the 1990 Community Care Act he moved into working with adults as a manager and had a range of responsibilities around fieldwork, home care, day care and residential care resources across all client groups.

He later managed the Local Authority’s mental health service working closely with the local health provider. In the course of this work he led two Best Value Reviews, became the LIT lead, and Vice Chair of a Primary Care Group and had responsibilities for commissioning services from the Third Sector.  Prior to working for the Regional Development Centre and CSIP, Duncan was the Mental Health Workforce Lead for the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority.
