
Fran Tummey has worked within the NHS for 21 years and her
background is in mental health nursing. Her current role is as a
Programme Specialist for NHS West Midlands Regional Development Centre
and CAMHS Regional Development Worker for the National CAMHS Support
Service.
Since coming into post in 2008, Fran has been working with
comprehensive CAMH services across the region to deliver service
improvement activities, particularly around the CAMHS proxy targets and
improved access to CAMHs. 2010 also sees the support and challenge role
continue for the next phase of TAMHS (targeted mental health in
schools) pathfinders and a research study around transition from CAMHS
to AMHS. Fran has the national lead for the NCSS for Early Intervention
in Psychosis ensuring linkage around CAMHS and EI developments,
including working with the national EI leads and NMHDU.
Other experience
Fran has experience as a clinician in adult mental health and child and
adolescent mental health services, Dialectical Behaviour Therapist,
manager of mental health services, service redesign and as a Senior
Lecturer. She has worked in New Zealand in a CAMH service as a team
manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist
