Kevin is a RMN by professional background. He worked for 10 years as a clinician in North Birmingham Mental Health Trust. During this period Kevin worked in a Crisis Resolution setting supporting the development and implementation of Home Treatment teams across the organisation.
In his role as Lead Clinician of the Small Heath Home Treatment team, he was an integral member of the Beacon award-winning locality in Birmingham.
Kevin went on to work as the Clinical Services Manager having responsibility for Home Treatment, Inpatients and Day services within the Small Heath locality.
His experience and expertise have been utalised by the World Health Organisation for whom Kevin has worked as a mental health consultant since 1999, Kevin has supported and joint coordinated a programme to support the development and implementation of community based Mental Health Services in Kosovo and Albania.
In October 2003 Kevin became the Assertive Outreach and Crisis Resolution lead for NIMHE West Midlands and his role included the effective Implementation and development of Assertive Outreach and Crisis Resolution services across the West Midlands in line with Department of Health guidelines.
In October 2005 Kevin added the Dual Diagnosis and Service Improvement lead to his NIMHE/CSIP portfolio
Kevin is currently an honorary research fellow with Birmingham City University and has supported a number of International collaboration initiatives within the Centre for Community Mental Health
His work within the regional development centre during 2009/2010 includes;
Models of Care - Building a resource of service specifications for local commissioners and supporting Users and Carers to contribute by participating in a 3 day programme
Health Trainer & IAPT service development/training programme
A 5 day service Improvement progamme for managers of Community Development Workers
A project to `capture success` of year 1 IAPT sites, utalising tools for development and narrative a gathering approach
