Background
To improve mental health and well being outcomes for children, young people and families and delivery of comprehensive CAMHS through the development of a 'fit for purpose' workforce.
Objectives
•Workforce Development Programmes (In conjunction with Workforce Deanery)
Localities have been asked to complete workforce plans and submit to the SHA. These have been scrutinized and localites are in the process of receiving support to further develop these where necessary
*mapping courses and training opportunties within and around the West Midlands area
•Local patch assessment/review and tailored support
•Repeat of Leadership course
Support the development and implementation of the VRQ course with Worcester University Design, accrediatation and delivery of a voactionally related qualification to increase capacity of universal children's workforce . Timescales : May- Sept 09 develop accredited course. October-March 2010- negotiate delivery mechanisms.
•Supporting the development of new roles and responsibilities (eg Lead person as the main point of contact and acting as co-ordinator of services)
•Support the development of NWW, CCT, CAPA through workforce development programmes in conjunction with the workforce deanery
•Workforce programme to increase knowledge of child development and MHPWB across the workforce
