Background

Supporting local commisioners and providers to implement Maternity Matters, to improve choice, care, access and continuity of care in a safe service that is designed around womens individual needs.

Objectives

1. Work in partnership with commissioners and providers to undertake updated self & peer assessments of progress in Maternity Matters implementation
2. Work with the NHSII CS team to enable wider adoption of ‘Pathways to Success’ to reduce Caesarean section rates.
3. Create a Perinatal Mental Health Network to improve links between primary care, maternity, mental health and other services and enable development of care pathways and adoption of a regional strategy.
4.Create an online directory of service specifications and examples of good practice in choice, access and continuity of care
